Here i come. After ma depressing poem :P
I am here to tell u about my experience, the fun i had on 20th march at chepauk stadium .
I had been almost waiting fr a decade(i mean d ten days wich seemed like years aftr i got ma tickets ) to watch india play cricket live in the stadium. God knows if he heard my wish, (aftr ths long) nd he sent ma frnd akshaya wit a frnd whose dad (fortunately) the physical trainer for indian team.
We got the tickets in lower c! Rs.500 ticket. Nd ma brother for al his efforts of waking early morning nd standin in d endless queue got the shady upper C Rs.1000 ticket.
We both had to enter via VH road.. so ma problem of going there nd comin back home was setlled... nd i trusted ma bros driving expertise.
I was happy enof until akshaya's mom told about the terrorist warning. That created a lump in my throat nd i irritated my brother until i got clear that all those ll b taken care of by the cops.
Nd another stuff came up the vry next day. TSUNAMI warning (as stadium was jus so near to d stadium). i feel awful bout the tragedy in Japan. The oceans frightened me. It was cruel enof nd hungry too as it swallowed lakhs of life.
So for two days i geared up ma spirits consolin myself that ïf nothing happnd der, thn u wold miss d whole fun". that tot helpd me make up ma tots. I was now determined to against all ma fears.
so we (ma bro , me , ma sis, nd bros childhood frnd) drove to d stadium . Ma fears subsiding nd ma spirit heaping as we drew closer to d stadium. We atlast came near d gate aftr parkin the car in d beach(i prayed god tht water dosnt wash our car away) .
we(ma sis nd me as ma bro nd hs frnd had diff gates) met akshaya, hr sis nd hr sis frnd wit all d cousins in gate no. 7.... we had to surrender our charts as it wasnt allowed inside(i drew stumpy nd icc logo, all efforts gone waste:(..)nd thn we were ther atlast sittin inside the stadium.....tht fleetin moment seein the indian players havin net practice. nd did i forget to mention we saw the players goin inside the stadium in der bus?????? we did.. amazin isnt?????
nyways we were sittin der... india won the toss nd chose to bat... duh!
nd then d play strtd 2 30... wit gambhir nd sachin entering. (i personally missed shewag). sachin got out wit 2 runs wich was a blow... all the chatterin in d stadium died leavin us stunned nd shocked. then came yuvi his amazin century made our way thru d game... but unfortunately oters coldnt get up to hs score nd the 1st innings ended wit all out wit 269 runs.... by the tym d 1st innings got ovr i was fried ......
nd the 2nd innings was the best... it was a cool n8 nd nail bitting too! :P
Ashwin took d first wicket nd tht was it... the crowd went crazy jumpin lk spring..... nd wickets strtd fallin lk rain drops one aftr the oter... wen sachin came near our stance tht was it, we all went mad.. hootin hs name .. But he said hi many tyms... who can replace tht humble man anyways??
wen d last wicket fell ...it was ma sis hug tht kept me frm runnin to d ground.....
wit all the mexican waves nd hootin nd howlin yahoooooooo... the day ended wit yuvi starrin as the man of the match... :D
we left soon aftr the match ended..... talkin all the way bout the match nd stuff.... i came home nd had energy oly enof to lay on bed nd droop.... :P wit all the fun nd shoutin i complete forgot d hunger but the thirst of sittin in hot sun was hard to quench... so i gulped in as much as possilble to keep me alive...Well I am jus gonna end this post now… digest ur jealous as tht match was the last world cup match in Chennai…..
